Subject: Fix DIFF_QUEUE_CLEAR refactoring

It introduced a macro to reduce repeated assignments to three fields,
but an unrelated and incorrect change snuck in by mistake, which broke
commands like "git diff-files -p --submodule".

Noticed by Sven Verdoolaege.
